Gather. Eat. Love.
So often I am sad to see a project end because I LOVE my clients. This couple was no exception. I adore these people. They are so lovely and were fantastic to work with. The first meeting was to discuss "painting the cabinets". I am still laughing about that meeting.
I simply asked the husband to consider replacing the cabinets and a few days later we were full speed ahead.
They had already had an all white kitchen in a previous home so there was no interest in following that trend. We started with a fantastic backsplash tile for over the range and built on the scheme from there. Taupey gray cabinets found their way into our perimeter schematic and we did a creamy white island where friends and family gather for large celebrations.
Aged brass accents on the lights compliment the warmer tones of the kitchen while the stainless steel hood works effortlessly with the cooler finishes. I love mixing metals and adding unexpected details.
We opened up a crowded corner and relocated the refrigerator to create a coffee bar area with some open shelving. The stained wood shelves are a fun place to display their treasures.
For fun....Let's see the "before" photos....
Goodbye 1990s and hello lovely!
